Treen or treenware is the name for kitchen and other wooden household items. Most are very functional and some are highly regarded by collectors. Most common uses include wooden spoons, ladles, spatulas as well as many other wooden utensils. The wood can be maintained by rubbing it with mineral oil after washing (do not let the items soak in water), and do not use vegetable oil, as it can go rancid.
